Student attacks lecturer with an axe

Coimbra University suffered a new episode of student fury this week when an Irish doctorate student attacked one of the lecturers with an axe. Colin Paul Gloster was apparently angry that he had lost his scholarship funding. Earlier this year, another student was detained after threatening behaviour with a shotgun. Gloster’s victim was transferred to hospital with light injuries as her attacker was taken into police custody awaiting a court hearing.
