Suspected Viseu shooter “drove straight to Seville” after victim pronounced dead

In spite of police theories that suspected Viseu shooter José Carlos could still be in Portugal, a report today claims he switched vehicles after leaving the Palácio de Gelo shopping centre, and drove straight to Seville once it became clear that one of the victims, Elsa Alexandre, had died. According to tabloid Correio da Manhã, Carlos will have sought help from the large gypsy community in southern Spain. That said, police continue to remain in touch with members of his family in Portugal, and believe he could ‘give himself up of his own free will’. The funeral of Elsa Alexandre took place in Mangualde yesterday.
