Swimming is no longer discouraged at beaches in Vilamoura and Quarteira.
Speaking to Lusa news agency today, the port captain of Faro revealed that water quality tests came back “negative for the presence of microorganisms that prevent swimming.”
As the Resident reported yesterday, the warning against swimming was made on Wednesday after a wastewater leak was discovered at the Águas do Algarve pumping station (EE2) located at Passeio das Dunas.
