A young Englishman was rescued from Faro’s Desert Island in the early hours of Thursday morning (November 21) by Portugal’s maritime authority (AMN).
Says the AMN in a statement, the 19-year-old reached the island on a small boat but was apparently unable to return on his own. A relative of the youngster alerted Portuguese authorities, which located him and his boat on the island.
The teenager was taken to safety while his boat was towed to the maritime police command in Faro.
