Three German teenagers were recently arrested by the Faro PSP after they went on a shopping spree in Vila Real de Santo António using false 100 euro notes. According to reports, a local shop owner called the authorities after checking a 100-euro note that he had received from the tourists. When the police officers arrived, the three teenagers were in a branch of MultiOpticas opticians, trying to buy contact lenses with another 100-euro note. Officers then checked their German registered car, which was full of items that had been bought earlier that day.
