The warm spring weather saw tragedy in the Tejo River on Monday. A group of seven school chums aged between 12 and 17 decided to go for a swim near Santa Apolónia station in Lisbon. Even though he is reported not to know how to swim, 15-year-old Wanilson Ribeiro dived into the water with his friends, and ended up getting into difficulties. His body was found hours later by rescue divers.
