Performances take place this week at Lagoa’s Carlos do Carmo Auditorium
- Sister Act, the Broadway musical, is based on the hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg – a refreshing take on the plot promising to deliver an all-singing, all-dancing, all-fun night out at the theatre.
- Director Carmen Danen brings her years of experience as a professional musical theatre performer and vocal coach to ensure The Algarveans Theatre cast will wow audiences with high-energy musical numbers.
- Professional choreographer Shelley Dança has raised the bar on the dance sequences.
- Great sets and fabulous costumes echoing Deloris’ disco diva dreams: expect to see the cast shimmy and shake in everything from humble habits to nightclub sparkles.
- Scripted with humour and wit which go along with the dancing and singing. Watch out for side-splitting scene-stealing one-liners.
- This story about love, friendship and staying true to yourself is set in a church, so you can expect a lot of powerhouse singers belting out gospel-inspired tunes.
- Every story will have a villain, and Sister Actis no different. But unlike the regular bad guys, the villains of the piece are a motley crew of singin’, dancin’ and romancin’ guys.
