The seismic crisis that has been affecting the island of Terceira in the Azores has amplified in recent hours, with four quakes hitting the island in the space of a few hours. The Azores Seismic Information and Surveillance Centre (CIVISA) said today that a quake measuring 3.7 on the Richter Scale was recorded at 3.27 a.m. local time this morning and had its epicentre around three kilometres south of Raminho, in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo. Later on, around 8am this morning, a quake measuring 3.9 was recorded, while two earlier quakes, both measuring 2.6 were registered on Sunday evening.
