The show, which was nominated for the 2022 Olivier Award in the ‘Best Entertainment or Comedy Play’ category, will be on stage at the Tivoli BBVA Theatre from March 12 to 16.
The spirit of pubs is set to invade the Tivoli BBVA Theatre next month when nine boys will come together to sing, dance, play music and tell stories. This is the plot of “The Choir of Man”, which will be on stage until the eve of St. Patrick’s Day.
Through dialogue and live music, “The Choir of Man” celebrates friendship and union as the cast toasts with Pints mixed with contagious songs and first-class tap dancing.
The musical repertoire of this show, running from March 12 to 16, is quite eclectic, “much like beer: there is something to suit all tastes”, says the organisation.
From rock to pop, including more melancholic genres, the nine performers deliver hits by Queen, Luther Vandross, Sia, Paul Simon, Adele, Guns N’ Roses, Avicii, and Katy Perry, with arrangements by Jack Blume. The show’s playlist is available on Spotify so the public can warm up their voices before the performance.
Beer is merely the secondary character of this gathering, which unites nine lads to celebrate good times and where poetic meditations take on a new dimension. With contagious energy and a warm atmosphere, the audience will quickly grasp why “The Choir of Man” was nominated for the 2022 Olivier Awards in the “Best Entertainment or Comedy Play” category.
“The Choir of Man,” which flies into Lisbon directly from London’s West End, brings the true spirit of British pubs to the Tivoli BBVA Theatre. It invites the audience to drink from the emotion (and a “Pint” on stage) and enjoy 90 minutes of pure joy.
This production, by Immersive Everywhere, Nic Doodson, Andrew Kay, Wendy and Andy Barnes, and AK Theatricals, includes alcohol consumption, flashing lights and fog.
Tickets for “The Choir of Man” start at €20 and are now available on Ticketline and at the usual outlets.
