Six Aljezur residents have recently formed a group – the Floresta Autóctone de Aljezur – with the aims of preserving and improving the indigenous forests of the area.
The group invites anyone interesting in sharing their aims and ambitions for the ecological wellbeing of this part of the Algarve to join them at an introductory event on Friday, October 19 at the Gallery Espaço in Aljezur, at 5pm.
The event serves not only to present the indigenous forest of Aljezur but also to introduce the group and integrate people interested in the project.
“Whether they have forest properties in the region or not, all those that share the passion for these forests, and the ambition for transforming them in the years and decades to come are welcome and can actively participate,” Floresta Autóctone de Aljezur said in a statement.
