The most common sports injuries

We all want to stay healthy and fit and exercising regularly is certainly a good way to achieve this goal. We noticed that more and more people get into some physical activity.

Whether you get into walking, golfing, playing tennis or paddle, and doing some Pilates, yoga or physical fitness in the gym, you get your body moving. It sometimes comes with a few unfortunate injuries, but there are ways to decrease the chances of getting hurt.

Do you know which are the most common injuries that our body suffers? Find out here in this article.

Frequent small injuries

Blisters: Who hasn’t had blisters? Blisters are normal when we adapt to new shoes that rub differently than the ones we are used to. However, they can be a sign that our shoes are not suitable for us; for example, too big or too small.

Aches: Muscle soreness comes from muscle fatigue. They are generally due to a lack of hydration, stretching, too much effort or they can be the cause of a muscle problem that is more serious.

Cramps: Cramps occur when our body is subjected to a very large muscle contraction during exercise. They are more common when you are not well hydrated or when you do not eat a healthy diet and lack some minerals or vitamins.

And the greatest

Sprain: Sprain is due to trauma to the ligaments that support a joint and is caused by a sudden and violent movement as well as twisting. With this sudden movement, your ligament stretches or tears, which causes the sprain. They are common especially in the ankle, wrist, fingers or knee. The sprain must be well cared for and treated so as not to get worse and to reduce its effects.

Strains: Strains are often confused with sprains, but they occur when we push our muscles beyond their limits of movement. It is an injury to your muscle or tendon.

Plantar fasciitis: Plantar fasciitis is pain that comes from the thick band of tissue that runs from the heel to the base of the toes (forefoot). The pain felt is located under the foot and near the heel and is more intense in the morning and at the end of the day. The causes can be due to collapse of the plantar arches, tendonitis of the Achilles tendon, repeated standing on a daily basis or even more. If you suffer from plantar fasciitis, a chiropractor will be able to use precise joint adjustments to the bones of the foot to improve your joint mobility. Personalized exercises to reproduce at home can also be recommended.
