A motorbike and a variety of accessories were stolen in Praia da Rocha from a group of MotoGP fans who had attended the Portuguese Grand Prix.
Reports Correio da Manhã tabloid, the victims claim that exhaust pipes, backpacks and GPS systems were stolen in the early hours of Sunday morning, totalling several “thousands of euros-worth” of equipment.
PSP police in Portimão received 22 complaints relating to thefts while the same police force in Lagos received five.
Authorities believe that the thefts may have been carried out by a group from outside of the Algarve, with eight suspects already identified. PSP Portimão are investigating.
