In the space of just two weeks the bodies of three women have been found in various stages of ‘carbonisation’.
First there was the young mother-of-two from the Algarve (click here), then a teacher from Montijo (click here) and now a 48-year-old woman who was only reported missing yesterday (Thursday).
This latest victim was discovered in a “tank without water” in Castelo de Paiva, reports TVI24.
Her body (the woman has yet to be named) was “partially carbonised”.
According to a source for the local fire brigade, the alert was sounded on Thursday around 5.40pm. When firefighters reached the scene, in a hamlet called Raiva, they discovered “part of the victim’s body was carbonised and the rest showed 3rd degree burns”.
Said the source, “this is a strange case”.
PJ police are now involved while the woman’s body has been transported to the local office of legal medicine for autopsy.
