Brisa announced the price hikes today
Starting on January 1, 2025, toll prices for full trips on key motorways in Portugal will rise, according to concession company Brisa.
The cost for a trip on the A1 motorway between Lisbon and Porto will increase by €0.70 to €24.60. Similarly, the A2 motorway trip between Lisbon and the Algarve will rise by €0.60 to €23.30.
These changes, which apply to Class 1 vehicles, follow inflation rates recorded in October, excluding housing costs, as outlined in Brisa’s concession agreement. An additional 0.1% increase was added to compensate for limits on toll hikes imposed during 2023’s high-inflation period.
From January 1, tolls on Brisa-operated roads will increase by an average of 2.21%. However, not all rates are affected equally. For instance:
- The Lisbon-Cascais toll (A5) remains at €1.50.
- Lisbon-Oeiras toll increases by €0.05 to €0.40.
- Driving Lisbon’s CREL outer ring road will cost €3.70, up by €0.15.
- The Porto-Valença route (A3) rises by €0.20 to €9.95.
- The Marateca-Caia connection (A2/A6) will go up by €0.35 to €15.05.
Brisa also announced a €64 million investment in road improvements, including resurfacing, viaduct rehabilitation, and embankment repairs.
