The Portuguese Tourism Confederation (CTP) reiterates the urgent need for an alternative to Lisbon airport and questions how the project is progressing since Alcochete was chosen, asking for a timetable for the future infrastructure. According to the draft state budget for 2025, the government will go ahead next year with carrying out “basic studies” to support the technical solutions for implementing the new airport. Confronted with this fact, Francisco Calheiros asked Lusa on the sidelines of the 49th APAVT Congress, which is taking place in Huelva (Spain), “what has been done in the last few months?”(since the decision for Alcochete was announced) and why has the development of this project taken so long?
