A 36-year-old tourist died today after he was hit by a train in the Porto Metro, at Francos. According to a source for the Metro, the tourist was wearing headphones, and presumably this obliterated the sound of the train approaching. It is unclear how exactly the man was hit (was he walking across tracks?), but the source stressed that “unfortunately this kind of incident is commonplace: people walk around with their headphones on, and end up being hit”.
