Toxicology reports ordered after ‘inconclusive autopsy’ on golf course death

The death of a former PSD minister, who held posts as a consul in Russia and ‘mediated’ in business deals with China, is still proving something of a mystery. His body was found floating on the lake of a golf course in Matosinhos on Monday, but an autopsy carried out yesterday has been described as ‘inconclusive’. It is not clear whether António Couto dos Santos, 75, drowned, or suffered a heart attack, or if something else caused his death. Thus toxicology reports have been requested. The funeral, meantime, is due to take place tomorrow afternoon in Porto.
