Traditional midnight swim celebrated in Lagos

It’s a tradition that is celebrated every year. When the clock strikes midnight on August 29, hundreds of people go for a swim in the sea in Lagos.

The so-called ‘Banho 29’ party is taking place once again in Lagos’ Cais da Solaria, starting at 11am, and the neighbouring village of Praia da Luz, starting at 9pm.

Entrance to both events, which also feature concerts, traditional games and much more, is free.
