Train operator CP has warned of a strike scheduled for Monday
Portugal’s train network is bracing for serious disruption this coming Monday as ticket inspectors prepare to walk off the job.
The national train operator, CP – Comboios de Portugal, issued a warning to passengers today, saying a strike called by the Ticket Inspector Union (SFRCI) could throw travel plans into disarray on April 28, with possible knock-on effects before and after the date.
In a statement, CP flagged the likelihood of “major disruption” across its services, including Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional trains.
While it remains unclear whether minimum service levels will be set, the operator assured passengers that refunds or free ticket exchanges are available. Passengers booked to travel can change your ticket online or in person up to 15 minutes before their scheduled departure. If they miss that window, they’ve still got 10 days after the strike to claim a refund, needing only to submit a request online with a scan of their ticket.
