Owners have already been notified to remove the boats from the Ferragudo beach
Two boats – one of which a 35-metre long pleasure craft and the other a smaller sailboat – washed ashore Praia Grande in Ferragudo, Lagoa this morning (January 17) due to the stormy weather.
This has brought the number of boats that are currently washed up at the beach to three, given that a sailboat was also brought ashore by rough seas months ago and has remained abandoned there ever since.
According to a statement from the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the two latest vessels to wash ashore broke away from their moorings near Portimão port and were dragged to the beach.
Maritime police in Portimão detected the boats at 8am, having confirmed that “there were no sources of pollution” nor any crew members on board.

AMN adds that the owners of the boats have been “notified to carry out the proceedings to remove the vessels from the beach.”
