Two firemen have been hurt today, one seriously, following a fire that sparked an explosion at the Festas de São João street parties in Porto de Mós (Leiria district). The fire began in one of the ‘tasquinhas’ (little bars) and then ‘evolved’, according to reports, into an explosion when it made contact with a gas bottle. Firefighters, INEM and Civil Protection all attended the incident, with the badly injured victim being rushed to hospital.
