Two further Russian naval ships pass through Portuguese exclusive economic zone

Another two Russian naval ships have passed through the Portuguese exclusive economic zone, this time in the area close to the Azores. The guided missile frigate Neustrashimy and refueling ship Yelnya spent two days in Portuguese territorial waters, en-route for the Caribbean, according to reports. Their passage was ‘monitored’ throughout by Portugal’s Navy. Admiral of the fleet, Henrique Gouveia e Melo, has acknowledged the four-fold increase in Russian ships passing through Portuguese waters since Russia initiated the war in Ukraine.
