Two Portuguese families lose homes in California fires

The homes of two Portuguese families living in the Los Angeles area have burned to the ground as a result of the fires that have been ravaging the region for several days, a source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Lusa today. The source added that the two families have not asked for support and that the Consulate General of Portugal in San Francisco is trying to contact them. This far, there is no information of any Portuguese-Americans hurt in the fires that have already caused a number of deaths and injuries, and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses.
