Two women injured in five-car crash on Arade Bridge

Traffic was affected on the bridge

Two young women were injured in a crash involving five vehicles on the Arade Bridge on the national EN125 road between Portimão and Lagoa on Tuesday morning (May 21).

The two women, aged 25 and 26, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Portimão Hospital, a civil protection source has confirmed.

Authorities were alerted at 8.40am to the accident, which caused traffic delays on the bridge.

A total of 27 members of police authorities, INEM emergency services and firefighters were called to the scene, aided by 10 vehicles.

The cause of the accident is still unclear.
