A two-year-old child died on Sunday in the swimming pool of a private house in Esmeriz, Vila Nova de Famalicão, Braga district. Reports do not explain the circumstances of the tragedy, simply that the alert was sounded at around 11.30am after the parents found the child in the water. Reanimation efforts by firefighters and an INEM emergency medical team proved unsuccessful. The parents were offered psychological support.
