Digital platforms Uber and Cabify are to wave goodbye to fines of over €4.6 million thanks to the imminent ‘legalising’ of their passenger transport operations in Portugal. The new regulations licensing these new-age taxis comes into effect on November 1. Says SIC television, fines issued previously will be rendered null and void, though any drivers who may have paid fines will not qualify for refunds.
