A bomb threat which turned out to be a false alarm saw authorities evacuating an Albufeira shopping centre this Wednesday afternoon.
The decision to evacuate Albufeira Shopping, located in the heart of the town, came after GNR police received an e-mail claiming there was a bomb inside the mall.
A team was quickly sent to evacuate the mall and perform a sweep for any possible bombs that might exist. A “suspicious package” was found but no reason for concern.
TVI reports that employees were allowed to return to their jobs at around 2.15pm.
An investigation into the bomb threat is now to follow.
