Portugal’s minister for the presidency António Leitão Amaro said today that the United States of America will continue to be “a preferential partner for Portugal” and that the government is following the “change of cycle” that results from yesterday’s presidential election. “We had, have and will have a historic alliance that is important and advantageous for both peoples. We must work together in many dimensions, bilaterally, at NATO level and in multilateral relations,” he told a press conference after the Council of Ministers.
