Walking football steps out again

After an enforced absence of several months, East Algarve Walking Football has commenced training sessions at the José Arcanjo Stadium in Olhão.

Pre-booking is required, and numbers are limited to 10 participants per session. Age groups: 50+ Tuesdays; 60+ Wednesdays; 70+ Thursdays and every precaution is undertaken including social distancing, sanitising of equipment and footballs.

Under the watchful eye of training co-ordinators Mick Coleman, Steve Maddocks and Mo Mohammed, the players are being eased back to fitness. It is hoped that matches will start again in a few weeks’ time.

The Monday morning collection of food and cleaning products for distribution to vulnerable families continues at the José Arcanjo Stadium (behind McDonalds on the EN125) between 11am and 1pm. Coffee and homemade cakes are provided to encourage people to pop-in and socialise when making donations.
