After a blistering start, June is set to bring rain to Portugal this weekend, according to forecasts from the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
Meteorologists expect the rain to fall tomorrow (Saturday June 13) in the north of the country and gradually make its way down to the south by Sunday.
Temperatures are also set to drop, with maximums going no higher than 21ºC in Faro, 19ºC in Lisbon and 18ºC in Porto.
While it might not be the news sun-seekers were hoping for, the rain will be welcomed by many – particularly gardeners – as “more than half of Portugal is facing severe to extreme drought” (see story https://www.portugalresident.com/algarve-suffers-worst-in-portugal%E2%80%99s-ongoing-drought).
