A woman was killed this morning following a violent collision between a car and a bicycle on the EN 120, near Azenha, in the borough of Aljezur. This stretch of road, between Aljezur and Lagos, is known for its heavy toll of accidents and vehicles of all kinds travelling ‘over the speed limit’. The accident saw the road closed in both directions for some time, but the INEM helicopter called to transport the injured victim ended up being the place where her death was declared. The woman was described as Portuguese, aged 42. A source for the GNR have said the causes of this latest accident are now under investigation.
