Police used tracking dogs and drones to help locate missing woman in Silves
A 55-year-old woman who went missing on Christmas Day was found today (December 26) by GNR police in the municipality of Silves, around 500 metres from her home.
The woman, who was “debilitated” and showed signs of hypothermia, was taken to Portimão Hospital, the police force said in a statement to the press.
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are so far unclear. All that GNR police have said is that they located the woman after deploying several officers to the area, who carried out searches aided by police tracking dogs and drones, as well as volunteer firefighters from São Bartolomeu de Messines.
GNR police have hailed the “success of the mission, which helped save a life”.
