World-class youth football teams face off in Silves

PSG, Manchester City and Juventus among participating clubs

Youth teams of some of the best football clubs in the world are travelling to the Algarve to compete in the Algarve Elite Cup, to be held at Estádio Dr. Francisco Vieira in Silves throughout the next three weekends.

The U13 tournament will take place between Friday, March 1 and Sunday, March 3, with the list of participating teams featuring local club Silves FC as well as international teams such as Manchester City, Juventus, Brighton & Hove Albion, Club Brugge and national football powerhouses Benfica and Sporting.

This will be followed by the U14 tournament the following weekend (March 8-10) and the U16/17 tournament a week later (March 15-17), which will be joined by other major clubs such as AFC Ajax and PSG.

The event is sponsored by real estate developer Carvoeiro Branco, whose CEO Erik De Vlieger highlights its commitment to “fostering sporting talent.”
