Portugal did not enjoy the luck of the draw held in Brazil last Friday afternoon. Ronaldo and company will have to be at their best come next June if they are to progress from their group which features tournament favourites Germany, the USA and narrowly beaten 2010 quarter-finalists Ghana. England fared little better having to contend with Italy, Luis Suarez-inspired Uruguay and Costa Rica in the heat and humidity of the Amazon jungle.
