World Music events in the Algarve

Organised by the Câmara of Loulé, MED festival is a world music event inspired on the Mediterranean culture, transforming the historical city centre of Loulé into a colourful fusion of cultures.

The event aims to place Loulé as one of the national summer festivals.

Now on its 7th edition, the MED festival also features gastronomy, arts and crafts, theatre and street entertainment alongside live music.

Running from June 23 until June 26, MED is already considered one of Portugal’s biggest world music events.

This year, MED will be featuring Amparo Sanchez, Zeca Medeiros, The Secret Tribe, King Khan & The Shrines, Cacique 97 and Isa Brito, amongst various other artists both national and international.

“This festival is aimed to promote Mediterranean countries and culture, highlighting music, gastronomy, arts and crafts,” said a spokesman for Loulé Câmara.

Most concerts start early evening and finish after midnight.

Tickets can be bought from CTT stations, with three types available; one-day, full week and premium, priced at 12.50 euros, 40.50 euros and 60.50 euros respectively.

The premium ticket, limited to 200, includes the full week ticket, an official MED Festival T-Shirt and free parking for four days at the municipal parking lot near the Court in Loulé.
