To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1 on November 11, 1918, the Royal British Legion-Portugal Branch has arranged an “End of the War Dinner Dance” on Saturday, November 10 at Restaurant A Cegonha at Camping Albufeira, from 6pm.
“Whilst enjoying ourselves, we shall remember all nations who lost men and women in this bloody conflict,” said RBL Portugal in a statement.
After a sparkling wine reception and a “Sing for your Supper” 1st World War singalong, guests will be served a three-course roast dinner.
A performance by violinist Victoria Yellop, who is flying from the UK especially for the evening, will be followed by music to dance the night away from well-known local entertainers The Abba Divas and Susanne Wilson.
All funds raised will go to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, which supports service men and women and their dependants.
Sponsorship is welcome to enhance the total raised.
Tickets “are selling fast” so if you would like to be part of this commemoration, book your space by emailing Colin Hearn at colinhearn998@gmail.com
