An 18-year-old sailor was rescued from a Swedish training ship 52 kilometres off the coast of Portimão after experiencing “severe abdominal pain”.
The operation took place between 3.10pm and 6pm on Saturday, October 12 and was led by the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre.
The young woman and her teacher were taken to Portimão Marina where local firefighters were waiting to transport them to the local hospital.
