ZERO expects ‘luke warm’ climate conference as world heats up

Francisco Ferreira, president of ZERO, may have hit the nail on the head when he said he expects that latest COP climate conference, opening in oil producing Azerbaijan, to be ‘luke warm in a world that is relentlessly heating up’. With the number of military conflicts adding to carbon (and goodness knows what else) in the atmosphere, and China and India’s continued zeal for fossil fuelled industries, COP 29 does not look like it will do anything to stop the world getting progressively hotter. Indeed, the BBC has reported on the CEO of this latest COP actually promoting fossil fuel deals in the lead-up to the conference… COP today is widely being viewed as a ‘cop out’
