A new gastronomic festival that pays tribute to cod, a popular fish in Portugal, will take place in Alcantarilha this weekend.
The first ‘Festival do Bacalhau’ will feature a variety of codfish dishes and musical performances at the Casa do Povo de Alcantarilha, Pêra and Armação de Pêra.
The festival will take place on Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 and will return the following weekend on Saturday, July 21.
It begins at 7pm on all three days. Admission is €5 and includes a glass of white wine and a pastel de bacalhau (codfish cake).
