All 16 Algarve borough councils announce there will be no New Year’s Eve celebrations this year, due to the rise in the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections. Some councils will be continuing with fireworks displays, although others have decided against as these could result in ‘agglomerations of people’. Today’s announcement was made by AMAL, the association of Algarve municipalities.
