Algarve-based photographer Jorge Fonseca will be displaying examples of his work at the next Easter Fair in Carvoeiro, from April 5 to 8.
Born in Évora (Alentejo), Jorge Fonseca developed an interest in natural photography three years ago in the Algarve, where he has been living for eight years.
In the region, he found a diversity of landscapes that have helped improve his photographic skills in a variety of themes, although he prefers natural landscape photography.
Jorge Fonseca said: “Spurred by an adventurous spirit, I explore the magnificent nature that is all around, aiming to capture magical moments while developing my technique.”
In his type of work, he says a lot of patience and the ability to master the dynamics of light are required.
“The atmosphere, the location, time of day or simply a unique, forgotten object lying somewhere in all its glory are all factors I consider before capturing a transient moment,” he said.
Jorge Fonseca exhibited at the last Christmas fair in Carvoeiro and was delighted by the response he received to his work. “Many visitors were looking at my photographs as ideal souvenirs, away from the normal blue sky, blue sea postcards available,” he said.
The Easter fair will open each day from midday until around 6pm and will be located in the centre of Carvoeiro in the area in front of the Soares shop.
