A law that criminalises homeless people caught sleeping rough on the streets of Hungary has been passed by the Hungarian parliament. The government states that the new law is designed to help the homeless and get them off the streets and into shelters. But critics disagree and say that the law criminalises the homeless, who could face fines, community service or imprisonment if they disobey the orders of the authorities.
