The recovery of a Roman amphora in the River Arade, near Portimão, is one of the principal finds that reinforces the belief that the remains of a boat and other relics from the period are still to be discovered by archaeologists. The find came as a result of a submarine search project aimed at retrieving the most significant relics that confirm Roman presence in the area.
