The Barbershop choir ‘Bella a Cappella’ from Moncarapacho is performing an open-air ‘sing-out’ at the Cantaloupe Jazz Café in Olhão on Thursday, July 19 from 7pm.
Barbershop singing is in four-parts to achieve close-harmony without instrumental accompaniment. ‘Bella a Cappella’ is directed by Rob Does.
All are invited to go along and listen to songs like ‘California Dreaming’ (The Mamas & The Papas), ‘Happy Together’ (The Turtles), ‘Moondance’ (Van Morrison), Billy Joel’s ‘Lullabye’ plus “some Blues and a little Jazz”.
The Cantaloupe Jazz Café is adjacent to the Mercado do Peixe on the main promenade overlooking the Olhão waterfront.
If you would like to know more about singing with ‘Bella a Cappella’, rehearsals are held every Tuesday at Santa Casa da Misericórdia, Rua Gabriel Mendonça in Moncarapacho.
After the summer break, rehearsals start again on Tuesday, September 4 at 7.30pm.
