Several beach concessions in the Algarve are preparing to open for Easter, with weather reports predicting a sun-filled week.
At least 25 beach concessions will be ready to welcome beachgoers, including Meia Praia (Lagos), Alvor Poente (Portimão), Caneiros (Lagoa), Armação de Pêra, Pescadores (Albufeira), Marina de Vilamoura, Quarteira and Quinta do Lago (Loulé).
Marques Ferreira, Commandant for the Maritime Authority of the South, explained that requests by beach concessions are made individually and will need to meet the necessary safety requirements such as the supervision by lifeguards.
So far, most requests have come from Loulé, followed by Albufeira, Lagos, Portimão and Silves.
