Beira Alta railway line closed for ‘modernisation’ … for nine months

The Beira Alta railway line, connecting Pampilhosa to Vilar Formoso, will be closed to rail traffic from April 19 for an estimated period of nine months as part of the modernisation plan, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) has announced. According to IP, “the full closure is essential given the technical characteristics of the work to be carried out in several places along the stretch”.
