The “biggest fish and shellfish freezing factory in the Iberian Peninsula” is being inaugurated today (March 22) in Lagos.

Described as “one of the most advanced of its kind,” the Congelagos factory is being launched by the Grupo Battaglia Capital SA and represents a €16 million investment.

“We value our workers, our clients, the communities in which we operate and the environment,” said Nuno Battaglia, chairman of the group, who was born in Lagos.

He added, “we seek deals that are economically sustainable and that are beneficial to people and to the environment, which is the case of Congelagos”.

The factory is equipped to process 300 tons of fish every day and store 5,400 tons of frozen fish.
