AN ELDERLY British woman is feared dead after she went missing on Saturday in Sintra, Lisbon. Police are considering the possibility that she was murdered.
A Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed to The Resident that 77-year-old Margaret Goodliffe has been reported missing and that next of kin have been informed, adding: “Portuguese authorities are investigating her disappearance.” He declined to comment about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
She is feared dead after police dogs were brought in and there is speculation that she was shot dead by a man, who is also missing, over land disputes.
