Dear Editor,
I think that the end of free British satellite TV is going to be the best thing that could possibly happen for expats living here and elsewhere in Europe.
It may mean that finally the Brits will start to integrate with the local community rather than staying holed up in their villas watching TV just as they would back in England. Maybe it will help people learn some Portuguese by watching the news on RTP or SIC.
Most Brits living here live in an expat bubble and I believe that free British TV is partly to blame for that.
