THE CONSTRUCTION of a new hospital at Cascais is due to commence towards the end of this year and should be operating in 2009, according to the Ministry of Health.
The hospital, to be located near the A5/ IC30 exit at Alcabideche, will have capacity for 251 beds and a maternity unit that will cover the northern area of Sintra.
